Snösätra – Ekudden

The electricity grid strengthened between southern Stockholm and Huddinge

With the new electricity connection between the substations of Snösätra and Ekudden we are reinforcing the grid in the Stockholm region. This is part of the project Stockholm Ström, set up to meet the region's growing electricity needs.

About Snösätra – Ekudden

We are planning a new electricity connection in southern Stockholm between the substations Snösätra in Högdalen and Ekudden in Huddinge. This is one of several reinforcements that we make as part of the project Stockholms Ström, set up to secure the Stockholm region's electricity supply in the future.

The connection adds to a more stable electricity grid in the Stockholm region

The new link is part of the project Stockholm Ström, a collaboration between Ellevio, Vattenfall and us at Svenska kraftnät, with the aim to reinforce the Stockholm region's electricity grid. Together, we are building a new structure for the grid in order to meet the region's growing need for electricity.

In june 2015 we started consultations with stakeholders to inform about the proposed electricity connection and receive input on our expansion plans.

We are planning the new electricity connection in Stockholm and Huddinge municipality.

City Link – electricity’s new highway

An important part of Stockholm Ström is the new electricity connection City Link built in four stages. Snösätra - Ekudden represents the fourth stage. City Link will connect the northern and southern Stockholm area - from Hagby in Upplands Väsby to Ekudden in Huddinge. When City Link is finished, electricity can be fed from several directions in the Stockholm area. This secures electricity supply for the future.
