Aggregation in reserve markets
Dear stakeholder in the Nordic Electricity Market, The Nordic Transmission System Operators (TSOs) will arrange a workshop with a purpose to give information and discuss aggregation in the reserve markets.
Date: Tuesday 7th February 2017
Time: 10:00 - 15:30 (registration starts at 9:30)
Place: Radisson Blu Arlandia, Arlanda, Sweden (shuttle bus from the terminals)
The Nordic power system is changing due to climate change and political ambitions. In order to ensure the security of supply and efficiency of the electricity markets following the decarbonization of the energy sector, it is imperative that all flexibility potential in the system is made available. The new EU legislation, i.e. Guideline on Electricity Balancing and Clean Energy Package (Winter Package) suggest that aggregation of demand facilities and generation facilities should be allowed in order to realize this potential. A new actor, the aggregator, may facilitate the realization for a part of this potential.
There is an ongoing Nordic TSO project which is investigating this new role. In the workshop, TSOs wish to gather feedback from stakeholders.
