Background
The relatively static power system of 10 years ago with relatively predictable capacities and flows no longer exists. In 2021, this has become evident due to new east-west energy flows resulting in congestions at new locations in the network and thereby adapted capacities for cross zonal trade in order to maintain operational security.
At the same time, the planned introduction of the new coordinated flow-based capacity calculation method in the Nordic region will bring major changes.
