Electrical preparedness
Svenska kraftnät is Sweden's authority for electrical preparedness. This means that we should ensure that the entire Swedish electricity supply is prepared for events such as war, terrorism and earthquakes. It is about disruptions that are beyond the responsibility of the individual electricity companies.
We are working to prevent such disruptions and to manage them if they occur. We will ensure that measures are implemented to increase preparedness in the areas of technology, communication and physical protection. In addition, we are educating the industry and carry out preparatory exercises. We also issue regulations targeting electricity companies. The regulations are related to the decree on electrical preparedness.
Only disorders affecting large areas are Svenska kraftnät's responsibility. Therefore, we coordinate the preparedness measures at both the regional and national levels.
