Anneberg – Skanstull
New high voltage cables in a tunnel between Danderyd and Hammarby Sjöstad
The tunnel for a new 400 kV cable connection is currently being bored and is one of many ongoing projects in the Stockholm region to strengthen the capacity of the transmission grid to meet the growing need for electricity.

The tunnel for a new 400 kV cable connection is currently being bored and is one of many ongoing projects in the Stockholm region to strengthen the capacity of the transmission grid to meet the growing need for electricity.
About Anneberg – Skanstull
The new tunnel is 13.4 km long and connects two substations, Anneberg and Skanstull. The tunnel depth varies between 50 to 100 meters below ground.
With all the necessary permits in place, tunnelling started in February 2020. Along the tunnel stretch, there will be six ventilation shafts. Once the tunnel is in place, installations of high voltage cables will start.
The connection adds to a more stable electricity network in the Stockholm region
The new connection is part of the Stockholm Ström project, in collaboration with Vattenfall and Ellevio. Together, we are building a brand new structure for the transmission grid to meet the region's growing need for stable electricity supplies.

City Link – electricity’s new highway
An important part of Stockholms Ström is the new connection City Link, built in four stages with Anneberg - Skanstull as the second stage. City Link will connect the northern and southern Stockholm area, from Hagby in Upplands Väsby to Ekudden in Huddinge.
With City Link in place, electricity can be fed from several directions into the Stockholm area. The first phase of City Link has overhead lines and cables and the second stage a cable tunnel.
Part of the Stockholms Ström project
The new structure has approximately fifty projects with new cables, overhead lines, tunnels and substations in cooperation with Vattenfall and Ellevio.
