Svenska kraftnät concludes 1 MW pilot study and updates test program for prequalification of the ancillary service mFRR
Svenska kraftnät has had a pilot study since 2021 where there was an opportunity to sign an agreement to be able to supply 1 MW bids to the mFRR market. The aim has been to increase the flexibility of the power system.
March 4 is the go-live date for mFRR EAM and then the bid limit is lowered to 1 MW on the mFRR market and with this the pilot study closes. Agreements for the pilot study have been signed in connection with prequalification and, in addition to the pilot study, the test program for mFRR is also now being updated with market changes.
In the updated test program, the endurance test time is adjusted to 15 minutes if only scheduled activation will be used and to 30 minutes if also direct activation will be used. In addition to this, adjustments have been made according to previously communicated changes to the notification of prequalification tests, as prenotification of tests only needs to be done for volumes from 50 MW and above.
