Svenska kraftnät increases the FCR-D down procurement in Q4 2023
FCR-D down is an automatic ancillary service that stabilizes the frequency in the event of a disturbance (downward regulation). The FCR-D down procurement will be increased with 45 MW in Q4 2023. This means FCR-D will be procured for all hours, with a volume of 320 MW.
Starting from 1 October 2023, 320 MW FCR-D down will be procured for all hours, which is an increase of 45 MW compared to Q3 2023.
Svenska kraftnät aim to procure the full volume requirement of up to approximately 538 MW FCR-D down by the end of the 2024.
The procurement volume is updated quarterly and is based on the pre-qualified capacity and an analysis of available bids. The procurement plan for the first quarter of 2024 will be published in December 2023.
Terms and Conditions
In order to participate in the FCR-market a provider shall demonstrate that the technical requirements are met by performing a prequalification with an approved result. Here you can find information about prequalification: Prequalification.
