Svenska kraftnät publishes names of critical network elements
Svenska kraftnät will disclose the names of network elements in the power system when publishing the so-called CNECs. This represents an increased opportunity for market participants to make effective decisions.
Svenska kraftnät has introduced a new flow-based method for calculating capacity in the power system. In the power system, there are grid elements that are limiting, such as facilities and transmission lines.
– By publishing the names of the network elements in the power system, we are acting in the same way as other system operators within the EU. We see that this will simplify things for the participants who have expressed a desire for increased transparency, says Pontus de Maré, Senior Vice President System Operation at Svenska kraftnät.
The information will be made available on the publication tool provided by the Joint Allocation Office (JAO). The data is then sent to ENTSO-E, where it is published on ENTSO-E's transparency platform.
Publication will take place as soon as the NRCC (Nordic Regional Coordination Centre) has implemented the necessary process changes, which is estimated to take about two months. Information on the exact date will be provided later.
