How does it work if FCR needs to be repurchased?

The balance responsible party supplying FCR who cannot provide the agreed volume must, without delay, carry out a repurchase so that Svenska kraftnät can ensure that sufficient volume of FCR balancing capacity is procured.

If a provider of FCR needs to carry out a repurchase after completion of the D-1 auction, they must notify Svenska kraftnät of this by phone without delay, so that Svenska kraftnät has the opportunity to replace the lost capacity with volume from another provider.

Repurchases after completing the D-1 procurement are priced at the marginal price for each hour, i.e. the highest of:

• The price for the highest bid price cleared in the D-2 auction and the D-1 auction respectively.
• The price of any transaction Svenska kraftnät must carry out in order to replace the repurchase.
