What are the recovery requirements for a unit/group with limited energy reserves?
For FCR-D up and FCR-D down, recovery must take place as soon as possible after the disruption ceases, but at the latest within two hours after the strained operating circumstances have ceased.
For FCR-N, aFRR and mFRR, there are no specific requirements regarding recovery, as the resource must be continuously available. In other words, bids must not be submitted during periods when energy is not available. This means that the provider of the ancillary services must ensure that recovery takes place in a way that does not affect the delivery of the ancillary service when it is cleared.
For FFR, recovery must take place in accordance with the following document: Technical Requirements for Fast Frequency Reserve Provision in the Nordic Synchronous Area (.pdf) Opens in a new window – External document under Section 2.4.
