What is the difference between dynamically and statically activated FCR-D?
Static FCR-D is a variant of FCR-D designed for units that have difficulty meeting dynamic requirements, such as performance during activation and deactivation, and demands for dynamic stability. One example is relay-activated consumption, which in some cases may struggle to repeatedly and rapidly activate and deactivate consumption in a controlled manner.
The main difference compared to dynamic FCR-D is a grace period - a 15-minute window following activation - during which the unit is not required to deactivate and/or perform a potential second activation.

The Nordic system operators are currently evaluating the need to introduce a volume limitation for static FCR-D. More information is available on the page Volume Limitation for Static FCR-D
