What IT requirements will be placed on actors who use the new communication solution?
We are currently working on reviewing and setting up rules for how data exchange is to be handled between actors. The latest work is described on the Power System Hub page (in Swedish).
Svenska kraftnät’s new communication solution provides the ability to collect data directly from the provider of the ancillary service using collection equipment. It is a requirement that data concerning the ancillary service to be reported can be communicated to the collection system, which will be able to handle a selection of well established protocols in the industry. Requirements may be made for physically protecting the collection unit at the installation.
It will also be possible to collect more aggregated data (e.g. aggregated in a server or SCADA system). It is then important that sufficient IT protection is in place to guarantee that real-time data is secure up to the aggregated point.
VPN tunnels and encryption are necessary and their requirements differ depending on the amount of information, the route of information (collection network), etc. It may be necessary to place a physical collection unit on the actor's server for communication to Svenska kraftnät. This means that the server may need to be physically located in Sweden.
