Updated version of the technical requirements for FCR is now available
Svenska kraftnät has published a new version of the document Technical Requirements for Frequency Containment Reserve Provision in the Nordic Synchronous Area. In connection with this, stakeholders are also invited to participate in a survey regarding the technical requirements for FCR.
The updated version is a joint effort by the Nordic TSOs and features corrections and clarifications as well as amendments to the previous requirements. In particular, the requirements pertaining to static FCR-D and LER has been revised. Requirement 4 has also been softened in the updated version. Major changes are listed in the change log for the updated version.

The updated version comes into effect on 2 June 2025
The updated version of the technical requirements for FCR will become valid on
2 June 2025, two months after its publishing.
Prequalifications submitted before this date are not affected by the update. Prequalifications submitted before 1 August 2025 can be evaluated according to the old version of the requirements if the tests were conducted before 2 June.
Survey regarding the technical requirements for FCR
Svenska kraftnät will conduct a stakeholder survey together with the Nordic TSOs regarding the FCR technical requirements. The survey collects experiences and feedback on the technical requirements.
Based on the survey, the TSOs will gather understanding of possible areas for development that can be considered in the next update cycle. The estimated duration of the survey is 20 minutes. Svenska kraftnät encourages all stakeholders with experience on the technical requirements for FCR to participate in the survey.
