The Uppsala package is divided into Uppsala South and Uppsala North, and includes both new construction and dismantling. The new power lines will modernize the national grid, while increasing the transmission capacity in the grid to enable increased power output in the area.
The power lines are being built as two parallel overhead lines of 400 kV over a distance of approximately ten kilometers, as well as approximately ten kilometers of overhead line of 220 kV. We will also build a shorter distance with underground cable, and dismantling 160 kilometers of old power lines that are approaching the end of their technical life-span.
